On that sacred mountain,
it finally dawned:
the man I followed—
his face swallowed my sight.
“Lord, it is good for us to be here.
Let me build three huts:
one for you,
one for Moses,
and one for Elijah.”
How could I gaze upon such glory?
Moses and Elijah stood beside him,
and the past was made present,
Birthing hope
to a broken world.
“Lord, it is good for us to be here.
Let me build three huts:
one for you,
one for Moses,
and one for Elijah.”
That sacred mountain suddenly became heaven for us—
I, once a forgotten sinner,
now stood in the company of heaven,
gazing upon beauty not my own.
Then from the cloud came a voice:
“This is my Son, my Chosen;
listen to him.”
How can I hear that voice
and not be changed?
How can I remain on the mountain,
when the Lord calls me
to walk down?
Lord, walk down with me.
Walk down with me.
Do not leave me up here.
Walk down with me into the valley,
into the broken world,
into my broken life.
Walk down with me, Lord,
and make me whole.
