Join Christ Church and Bishop Julia Whitworth
at Boston Pride!
Dear Christ Church Family,
We are honored to share that Bishop Julia Whitworth has invited us to join her in marching in Boston’s Pride Parade on Saturday, June 14th, 2025. This is an incredible opportunity to stand together in love and solidarity, and we are hoping to gather at least 14 members of our congregation to walk with Bishop Whitworth and others from the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.
This year’s Pride takes on special meaning. As the planning team movingly shared:
“We are living in a time when people in the LGBTQ+ community are being harmed by hate-fueled public policies, violent events, and alienating language. Often, these actions are rooted in misguided interpretations of Christianity. Having a loving presence of Christians—including members of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts—is more important now than it has been in decades.”
“God’s got your back.”
As The Rev. Malia Crawford of the Church of Our Saviour in Arlington said in a recent conversation:
As people of faith, this is our chance to visibly live out the Gospel message of love, justice, and inclusion. We want to show our community—and the wider world—that Christ Church is an open, affirming, and welcoming church for all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
Let’s be that reminder to others.
How You Can Participate:
March with us: If you are able, please consider walking alongside us and Bishop Whitworth in the parade. It’s a joyful, affirming, and powerful experience.
Show your support from the sidelines: If marching isn’t right for you, join other supporters at Trinity Church Boston’s watch party on their Clarendon Street porch and lawn starting at 11a.m. It’s a festive and welcoming place to cheer on the parade.
This outreach reflects a long-standing Christ Church tradition of standing with the LGBTQ+ community, and this year, we’d love to make our presence felt more than ever. Let’s show Boston—and ourselves—what Christ’s love looks like in action.
